MEMBERSHIP
HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER OF JASPER FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH?
THERE ARE THREE WAYS TO JOIN OUR CHURCH FAMILY:
BAPTISM – If you have committed your life to Jesus Christ, the Bible teaches that baptism by immersion (being placed completely under the water) is the first act of obedience to the Lord Jesus. Baptism is a public symbol of your commitment to Christ.
LETTER – If you are transferring your membership from another Baptist church.
STATEMENT – Attesting to your faith in Christ and your baptism by immersion after salvation into a church of like faith.
WHO CAN BECOME A MEMBER OF JFBC?
There are three requirements for membership:
- A clear personal testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ alone as the payment for sin and trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. Ephesians 2:8-9 and Romans 5:8
- Baptism by immersion and a public statement that identifies that person as a follower of Jesus Christ. Romans 6:3-6
- An interview with one of our pastors to help you understand the commitments of church membership.
